Hello Grab Bag Theater community! Welcome back, with the start of the school year and the start of this year's fall play season. The Executive Board is excited to release our fall play, "Nothing is the End of the World (except for the end of the world)" by Bekah Brunstetter. We chose the play because it is well written, relevant to the youth participating in our company, and a new type of show for Grab Bag. Here is the description of the show and the link, if you would like to look at the script or other details:
"In the near distant future, artificially intelligent students try to integrate into a New York high school. A reality show attempt to document the experiment amidst the regular drama of the existing high schoolers."

Auditions will be on September 23 and 24 (location TBA), and our shows will take place on November 14 and 15. If you have any questions, please direct them to the 2014-2015 Executive Board. We are excited to see both new and old faces on and off stage this year. We will let you know more about the show closer to the date, and we hope you get the chance to audition!
In other news, until further notice, please send all Junior Board Applications to our email, email@example.com. The due date has been extended to September 8, and we will let you know future dates and deadlines after we have all of the applications. Hi Grab Bag Theater!
Auditions for The Wizard of Oz start tomorrow at 4:00 pm at Sequoia Church (233 Topaz St, Redwood City). Please come prepared with one minute of a song, clothes that you feel comfortable moving in, and an open attitude to read sides for multiple characters. We will have the ability to play a recording, but no pianist, so please avoid sheet music.
If you have any last minute questions, please email email@example.com, and we will be happy to answer them! We look forward to meeting all of you tomorrow and starting work on this new production. We have an awesome team behind the this show who have been preparing for months for this moment!

Happy Valentine's Day from all of us at GBT. We look forward to seeing you all at auditions!
Hey there Grab Bag. We have some long awaited news for you all: We've narrowed down our musical options to two shows and we would like your input! Our two options right now are Cinderella and The Wizard of Oz.
Both are classic Broadway shows full of life and energy and we're really excited to have these two shows in consideration for the 2014 year. If you have an opinion as to what show you would like us to produce, we value your input. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your vote as we wish to keep a level of anonymity to the process.
Please know that we want to hear your opinion, but a variety of factors go into determining a production, including cost of sets, costumes, and rights, as well as availability and technical concerns, which are quite complicated. Thus it will ultimately come down to the Executive Board's vote. We will have a final decision for you all this Friday and are so excited to get to work.
Exact audition dates and performance information will be released in the coming month!
In other news for 2014, get ready for some more open mic nights, masterclasses, and fun ways to get involved with GBT. We hope you all had a great New Year's and we're looking forward to a wonderful year!
-Maddie Rostami, Executive Director
