We're off to a start for the new year and quickly approaching the musical season! As you (hopefully) have seen, we are going to be putting on a production of Babes in Arms, so get ready for some classics. As the vocal director, I can't wake to work with the cast on the big number, Babes in Arms (a shocker, I know) as well as developing the more personal solo songs like My Funny Valentine.
I am still missing an assistant vocal director to be my sidekick and to help coordinate and prepare the cast for the show, so, for those interested, please contact anyone on the executive board. Likewise, the position of stage manager is also still open. We would love to see people for these spots! Even if you are tentative, please feel free to ask us for the details about the spots.
Something to keep in mind: we are setting up another open mic night, so start thinking about songs and get ready to perform. As always, there are people open to learning songs on the guitar or simply with you to perform a duet. Just ask around!
If we have not expressed it enough elsewhere, we loved how wonderfully everyone did at the A Picture and a Thousand Words. We were blown away by the performances and consistently enjoy being able to work with everyone involved. We hope to see everyone again in the upcoming events and that everyone has had a good start to the new year.
